Humans:
The most common and adaptable of races, humans are well... humans. You should know how to play one, considering you are one. Or are you...?
Dwarves:
The Dwarves, though not as common as humans in this part of the world (Howling Wind Inn is set in the frontier lands of Albion, the main continient of the planet Carin Blaid), the Dwarves control a sprawling empire in the far north, in the frigid Icespine Mountains. They are a hardy and short race, often weighing up to 300 bounds of mostly muscle, and have beards that often drag the ground. Their favourite weapons or axes, hammers and, more rarely, muskets.
They commonly wear heavy armour.
Their complexion is ruddy, though their hair comes in highly varied colours, sometimes dyed exotic blues or greens. They are also heavy drinkers, though it is very, very rare to see a Dwarf get drunk, and half a glass of Dwarven wine will cause a human to faint.
Most Dwarves in this area are Slayers, banished from their homes for some crime, and come here to attone for their sins by seeking a heroic death in battle. Now might be a good time to mention that Dwarves take oaths and honour very seriously. They also take grudges very seriously, writing them down in books for their children to continue. They are also not fond of Elves, for some forgotten reason, though they hate Orcs and Goblins even more.
Gnomes:
Gnomes are not a playable race, though you may meet one. Legends varry. Sometimes they are said to be cruel. Other times kind. Other times mischivious. Who knows, eh?
Dark Elves:
Despite my earlier claims, Dark Elves are not a playable race. Yet. I do plan on it. Honest.
Anyway, Dark Elves dwell deep underground, in a massive series of caves called the Underdark. They are a cruel race, hating all other races. They are also great fighters, and often employ Giant Lizards as mounts. If you see one, 'tis advisable you run. Fast.
Half Dragons:
Playable on special request to me. Send me a private message for more info.
Elves:
The Eldar. They are natives of Parithia, a sunken island, the only part of which that remains is a great mountain the Elves call Parithiona, known to men as the Island of Edda.
The Elves are tall, seven feet on average, drinkers of fine wines, inclined to be snobs, skinny, straight backed and blue bloodied.
Oddly enough, they are great fighters, and by no means cowards. An Elf will gladly take on an army of orcs, knowing it means death, so long as he can take as many with him as possible.
Most elves are wanderers, without a home, though some Elven Cities have been founded deep within the dark woods...
Halflings:
A race of short people, called in ancient times Hobbits, and sometimes still today Bobbits, they have hairy feet, with leather like bottoms, so they wear no shoes, are fast, stealthy and have curly hair. Perfect for pickpocketing....
